First Round Tournament Card (Mar. 21-22)
In each round of the Tournament, contestants must allocate all Available Free Play Points (AFPP) points across one or more of the following markets. How many AFPP does each contestant have? The amount is listed right next to their name in the bracket. Click here to see the bracket and every contestant’s AFPP. Contestants’ goal is to generate more winnings from successful picks than their opponent does in each round. If they do this, they advance to the next round. If they don’t do this, they lose and are out of the tournament. The First Round submission deadline is 9am PT / Noon ET on Thursday March 21st Official contest rules can be found here

Below, we offer some refreshers on how to play in this Tournament segment of the contest.

Your amount of Available Free Play Points per round is listed next to your name. That’s how many points you have to allocate per card, per round.

For example, No. 7 seed Michael Hirshenson has 1,905 points to allocate during each round of the tournament. That's why "1,905" is listed next to his name.

On the first-round card that is being sent out right now, via this email, Michael will allocate 1,905 points across one or more games.

His opponent, No. 58 seed David Forman, has 1,094 points to allocate across one or more games.

Hirshenson and Forman are each trying to generate more winnings with their available points than the other. Whichever of them does so "wins" the round, and advances to the next round to face their next opponent.

Whoever wins between Forman and Hirshenson will have the same amount of points to spend in the second round as they did in the first round. Available points balances don't change from round to round of the tournament.

Whoever wins each round and ends up as champion wins the grand prize of $2,500.

Winners of each round will be emailed out at the conclusion of each round, but will also be updated in the bracket in real time.

Good luck, and don't forget to submit by Thursday at 9am / Noon ET.
