Fresh Face Jumps To Early Robn Golf Lead

The Robn 2024 $1,000 Golf Sweepstakes Tournament consists of a tight 20 of you, not including honorary invitees, plucked mostly from our ranks' diehards and past top finishers.

This leaves little room for new faces to make a splash.

Yet, journalist and savant Matt Ryblatowski has done just this, jumping out to a small early lead over Ray Owono after Week 1.

Familiar face Alex Aragon held much of the second and third round prospective lead, and looked like a genius for being the only participant to take Tyrrell Hatton in the Group of Five Low Score market.

But the Ranger Of The North succumbed late to a push from the only moniker-less man (or maybe it was just because of the random order in which the Commish graded everything in a flurry Sunday afternoon) via a high-paying Cam Young top 20 selection, as well as a higher-paying-than-most Scheffler-to-win Triple Chance market that featured Joaquin Niemann and Akshay Bhatia.

Ryblatowski himself almost lost on the final successful wager of the whole card, Owono's four-strokes margin of victory selection. Owono was the only participant to choose that margin of victory.

Shout out to Jake Williams, Sarah Hogan and Dan Bravato, who along with Ryblatowski were the only participants to win the Select Which Group Of Four Players Will Make The Top 40 market.

Week 2 Card To Feature Two New Markets

As we head to Harbour Town Golf Links for this week's action, the card swaps out one market for another.

The Choose 2 To Miss The Cut market will sadly go away, as the 69-person RBC field is small enough to make the cut de minimis.

It will be replaced by two new markets: picking the Leader After The End Of The Second Round, and our first Nationality-Based Winner.

Current Markets On Each Card:

  • Pick (separately) two golfers that will finish in the Top 20
  • Pick the tournament winner from among a group of three golfers
  • Pick the final stroke margin of victory
  • Pick (separately) three golfers that might have the lead at the end of the second round
  • Pick (separately) two golfers that will make an eagle during the tournament
  • Pick the golfer to finish with the lowest 72-hole score from among a group of five golfers
  • Pick the Canadian golfer to finish with the lowest 72-hole score from among a group of five golfers
  • Pick a group of four golfers that will all finish in the Top 40
  • Pick whether the winning 72-hole score will be higher or lower than a given number
